Gujarat Gas, a state-run natural gas distributor, has raised industrial gas prices for its Morbi customers by ₹2.27 per standard cubic metre (scm), bringing the price to ₹46.95 per scm.
The price hike will take effect from December 11, according to sources.
This marks the company's first price hike since July 2024, when industrial gas prices for the Morbi region were raised by ₹2 per scm to ₹44.68 per scm. That increase was implemented from July 4, 2024.
In September last year, Gujarat Gas had also raised industrial gas prices for Morbi by ₹2.50 per scm, citing higher spot liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices. Back then, prices had climbed to ₹43.33 per scm from ₹40.83 per scm.
Shares of Gujarat Gas were trading at ₹513.55, up 1.06, on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 2:25 PM today.
The Morbi region, known for its ceramic manufacturing industry, is one of the largest consumers of industrial gas supplied by Gujarat Gas.
